Management and Consultant Speak (II)

I overheard this one a couple of months ago in the kitchen area while making myself a cup of coffee.

Consultant 1: “So did you take that job then?”

Consultant 2: “No. At the end of the day the financial butter was spread a bit too thin on the bread.”

Why on earth was it so difficult to say the basic pay was ok but the ancillary benefits (or perks even) weren’t up to much?

It goes without saying another spoonful of Gold Blend was quickly added!
