The Lamp Post and the Water Tap (III)

As I write this at 3pm there has been no sign of any workmen today outside No.6 working on last night’s hole in the pavement/garden. It is surrounded by about ten large, blue, plastic barriers to prevent pedestrians stumbling in and of course, our short street is festooned with temporary road signs advising of road narrowing and workmen digging. The owners are nowhere to be seen so I guess they’re in for a surprise when they return … or maybe not of course.
